As indoor hospitality starts to reopen and we are making plans to go out once more, we thought we’d ask #TeamMarkus for their recommendations on where you can go in London for food, drinks and more! With a spot for almost every area of the city, you can stay local or venture further afield and explore somewhere new. Complete with what to wear solutions, we hope this makes your transition back in to socialising a little easier.

MARKUS
Founder and Creative Director

Recommends: Towpath Café
Haggerston, East London

Wear: Jewel Flower Lip Alex Tee

Markus says: A favourite of mine is this waterside café, perfect for coffee and/or brunch. Choose from a range of dishes made from locally sourced ingredients which makes it really feel like part of the community. It’s this jewel-like, dream of a place where time slows down just to the right speed. If you need a break from the city this place feels like a breath of fresh air! Wear our Jewel Flower Lip Alex Tee which will glisten in the sunlight and the reflection of the canal.

MONICA
Managing Director

Recommends: Dalloway Terrace
Tottenham Court Road, Central London

Wear: Tea Shirt Alex Tee

Monica says: Dress up our Tea Shirt Alex Tee to compliment your afternoon tea reservation. Situated within the Bloomsbury Hotel tucked away from the busy streets find a table on the terrace, which brings the outdoors in. With an interior display that changes with the season it’s one you’ll want revisit again and again. Currently a fresh, floral backdrop, monochrome striped retractable roof and marble table tops it makes it hard to take a bad picture. The adjoining bar means you can continue the fun for drinks in the Coral Room afterwards. Designed with a vibrant coral colour, decorative palms and mood lighting is enough to lift your spirits and forget about all the worries of 2020 even just for a short while. Overall, both are fantastic options and ideal to do together but you can also do separately if you choose.

ERIN
Product Development Manager

Recommends: Pearl
Hackney Wick, East London

Wear: Flocked We Are The Future Alex Tee

Erin says: Hidden in the corner of Hackney Wick, Pearl is my go-to at the weekends. Opt for the amazing brunch which is made up of both healthy and hearty food. The atmosphere has great vibes and friendly staff, so what’s not to love. It’s a super cute independent business so great if you want to support local. There are benches out the front for sunny days which often makes me feel like I’m abroad, even if just for a few minutes. You can escape further by the canal if you fancied a takeaway and stroll instead of sitting. Match the ‘support your local girl gang’ décor with our Flocked We Are The Future Alex Tee

JEAN
Head of Ecommerce

Recommends: Mercato Metropolitano
Elephant & Castle, South London

Wear: Collage Lip Alex Tee

Jeans says: MM is a cool spot for grabbing some drinks or food in the day or evening with friends.  A large, labyrinthine space constructed from recycled materials, partly outdoors, partly indoors, MM contains around 40 different food or drinks vendors. If you wear our Collage Lip Alex Tee it fits the eclectic feel. Start with a negroni aperitivo at one end, move on round to Jerk chicken, Maki rolls, or Argentinian grill, sink some specialty Italian beers, and loop back to finish with gelato, all under one roof.  Or if you’re on a date - head straight for champagne and fromage!  MM also hosts music and specialty cinema events, food and charity events, and is underpinned with a conscious social ‘mmovement’ promoting sustainable and community values. If Elephant & Castle is too far out they’ve opened a second venue in Mayfair in a Grade 1 listed church.

ÁINE
Ecommerce Trading & Marketing Executive

Recommends: Buck Street Market
Camden, North West London

Wear: Crush Alex Tee

Áine says: These containers have been stacked together to create a place for the conscious consumer, wear our Crush Alex Tee to blend in to their palette. Filled with over fifty ethical fashion traders, twenty-six sustainable food brands (all of which have vegan or vegetarian options on their menus) and a roof top bar. This quickly became my summer hangout and was a popular hit with all my friends, especially once the outdoor rule of six restrictions came in. Over the few times I've visited I have tried Eithka, which serves Mediterranean tapas and a selection of cocktails. The food at Rico Burrito is also a good option and made so authentically – I had the burrito bowl and I have not one regret about my choice. If you are just in the mood for drinks then you can go to the rooftop bar, named The Spirited. They have such unusual cocktails which are presented in such fun and playful ways - they provide blankets too if you would like to wrap up and keep warm in the evenings or cooler months.

MIRIAM
Ecommerce & Marketing Assistant

Recommends: The Hawk's Nest
Shepherds Bush, West London

Wear: Flocked Love Bite Anna Tee

Miriam says: With a serving of pizza and cocktails, this is the perfect place to meet up for drinks and dinner in the evening. With large booths and benches it’s great for larger groups and the fairy lights help to set the mood. Previously an empty yard next to the railway bridge, it has been transformed with a retractable roofing, mirrors and plants, to become a pizza haven right in Shepherds Bush. Go bold with the Flocked Love Bite Anna Tee which the colourful mural on the wall will be the best backdrop. Also, most importantly for COVID restrictions, it’s outdoor and with heaters so no need to worry when the temperature is cool.
